The Port of Cadiz returns to the United States to position itself as a point of reference at the largest cruise event in the world
The Port Authority of the Bay of Cadiz participates from today in the Seatrade Cruise Global, considered the largest cruise event in the world, to promote once again its infrastructures and services and to intensify its relations with the main cruise operators and shipping companies.
The Port of Cadiz is returning for the 26th time to this international event, which is being held from 27 to 30 April in Fort Lauderdale (USA), and which it is attending, as usual, through ‘Suncruise Andalusia’, the Association for the Promotion of the Andalusian region as a cruise destination, which has a space within the stand of Puertos del Estado.
On this occasion, the Cádiz-Port Port Authority will be accompanied by the Cádiz Chamber of Commerce, which has organised a trade mission with the participation of Global Port Holidays, Achiques Limpiezas Construcción y Vertidos, Coa Construcciones Occidental de Andalucía, Cadiship, Hermanos Macpherson Snyder, Dracologistic, Bayport Global Supplies, Naútica Andaluza de Operaciones y Servicios, Tincasur, Reparaciones Marítimas Españolas, Volpe Sur, Quality Weld Service, Juan Antonio Torres Sepúlveda and Altair Consultores Logísticos.
In these years in which Cadiz has been participating in Seatrade Global, it has consolidated its position as the fifth port at national level in terms of the number of calls and sixth in terms of passengers.
With a view to 2023, the Port of the Bay of Cadiz hopes to exceed 360 stopovers and to consolidate its commitment to premium or luxury cruises (smaller in size and with greater purchasing power).
During these days, the port of Cadiz will showcase its infrastructures and services, as well as the tourist attractions of its surroundings at the American convention, which is attended by the most important shipping companies and operators from all over the world and in which, according to the organisers, 1,000 exhibiting companies from more than 100 countries are expected to be present.
It is also worth remembering the important economic impact that cruise ships have on the area and that, according to the latest study carried out by the Andalusian Regional Government on cruise tourism in the region, the average expenditure per cruise passenger per day in the port of call is set at 40.6 euros, which means that the annual impact amounts to 19 million euros, without taking into account the expenditure made by the crew.
