The Port of Cadiz bets on Andalusia to position itself as a home port for cruises

The president of the Bay of Cadiz Port Authority, José Luis Blanco Romero, presented today at the Cruise Observatory the Cruise Cadiz brand, which advances in the goal of becoming a home port for cruises. The main claim when marketing Cadiz as a base port will be Andalusia. Cadiz, essence of Andalusia is the slogan that summarizes the strategy of the brand, based on the opportunity to discover the entire region by visiting a single destination, which brings together all the values already associated with Andalusia. As Ignacio González Dorao, director of Cadigrafía, the company in charge of the project to create the Cruise Cadiz brand, explains, “the province provides the cruiser with the opportunity to get to know and enjoy all the values it has in its perception of the region: sun and beaches, gastronomy, bulls, horses, wines, history, culture, flamenco and nature. All these values, desired and known throughout the world, can be found in the province of Cadiz, in a concentrated way and at the hand of the cruiser. This brand positioning is completed with an eternal value that will also be enhanced when it comes to marketing, as is the proximity of the port to the historic center of Cadiz’s capital, reflected, moreover, in the graphic image created, which identifies a cruise with the cathedral of Cadiz in the background, which is the most striking picture that is perceived when arriving at the city by sea.The president of the APBC has also highlighted other opportunities that will continue to work as regional strategic alliances, the good tourist positioning of Andalusia and the Mediterranean-Atlantic position of the port, which offers the possibility of integrating two continents and up to four countries in a single itinerary.Blanco, who has been accompanied in the presentation by the Provincial Deputy of Tourism, Mª Dolores Varo Malia, and by the Deputy Mayor Councillor for Employment, Consumer Affairs, Trade and Tourism, Laura Jiménez, also wanted to highlight the inter-institutional collaboration and private agents – materialized in the cruise observatory – in the challenge of converting Cadiz into a home port.
